It has been a busy week of updating and checking feedback from the last waves update! I have really enjoyed reading everyones feedback and making improvements to the game. It's still a long way off from my final vision yet but we're getting there slowly!


Thanks to everyone for contributing and sharing your opinions on Core Breach!


I have decided to make a big change to the camera as I have received a lot of feedback mentioning that it should be static. So I had to adapt the game arena a little bit in order to fit everything in one shot nicely.


Other changes in this patch are changes to the track maze wave. It now gives you a second to collect yourself before launching you off into the enemy maze!


Some changes to the difficulty curve for the waves to help newer players get adjusted to the game before all the chaos begins!


I've also made the trojan worm move speed a little bit slower.. Hard mode is the same as before and insane mode is now a little bit faster! I felt that the worm speed was a little bit too fast and made the difficulty for new players too much to get into it before giving up completely.


Also there are a bunch of new spawn patterns added to this version!


Still a lot more to come. My next update will be adding some more enemy and wave types. Especially challenge waves!

What a week it has been! Posted my first game to Newgrounds not thinking that it would gain any traction. Next thing I know i'm looking at pages of feedback and there it is... my game on the front page featured! So thankful for everyone who has played my game and voted. It still has some work to be done to make it ready for steam and I can't do it without all of the helpful comments and feedback you have all been providing! So thank you very much! Your feedback is so valuable to me and it makes me so happy reading your positive comments.. It's what makes game dev worth the grind!


So crazy... A website I have been visiting since I was 14 years old. Playing old flash games during IT classes while keeping an eye out for the teacher so we wouldn't get caught gaming during class.. just to think that my game might be distracting people in school now as well.. Awesome...


Anyway... onto the update!! Huge changes made.. I took a lot of your feedback onboard and here is a list of the changes in this new update I am calling.. Upgrade...Update... Yeah... it's maybe not the best name... for an update.. but it is focused on upgrading your trojan worm!

  • Added slow down mechanic - Space Bar
  • Changed the body regen mechanic. You have a max amount of body pieces now which can be increased in the upgrade zone with passive buffs. Your entire body will regen now instead of one body piece at a time. This should hopefully keep the action flowing!
  • Red SDCard Buffs no longer spawn. You can now purchase them with data bits in the upgrade zone and they are persistent and permanent. Continue to upgrade your trojan worm over multiple breaches to create the ultimate anti virus killing machine!
  • More Data bits rewarded for destroying stationary inactive enemies
  • Added a bunch of soundsĀ 
  • Re did the tutorial!
  • New leaderboards, weekly and daily boards added


So there we go... Next update will be focusing on bosses! Looking forward to working on that!
